Rotterdam based producer, Eelke Kleijn, delivers a prominent tune that has everyone at Golden Scissors in an ecstasy of melancholy. The first half of the track is deliciousness for your ears but half way through an explosion of excitement engage your mind. Even though this piece is a snippet the sound evolves throughout the track and takes you on a mental ride normally experienced late at night at the club right before sunrise.
Despite being 30 years of age, Kleijn has been involved in a lot of initiatives. Besides having releases on labels as Lost & Found, Manual Music and hosting his own radio show on Outside The Box, he has more recently been engaged in creating musical content for Hollywood TV and movie trailers.
The new piece is being released via the legendary Belgium label Eskimo Recordings.

At this point in his career, it would be hard to fault Laurent Garnier for taking some time off. With more than two decades in the business, the French-born DJ/producer has delivered a countless number of EPs and singles, along with a handful of diverse full-length albums, all while at different times holding down residencies at renowned clubbing destinations. As if that wasn't enough, Garnier also put in 18 years as a broadcast radio DJ in France, where he helped to push new trends in music and discover young artists before eventually launching his own 24-hour internet radio station, PBB, in 2003. Long story short, Laurent Garnier has done a lot, seen a lot, and heard a lot, and if the way he's begun 2014 is any indication, he is nowhere near letting up. Currently in the midst of delivering five releases with five different styles for five different labels (including 50Weapons, Still Music, and Musique Large)

Swedish house master Eric Prydz is set to have a busy 2014, thanks to the tenth anniversary of his Pryda record label, the release of his upcoming second album and the fact that he's bringing some holograms to Ultra Music Festival. Ten years ago, he said "Call on Me," so we did.
What’s your view of 2014 for you?
My Pryda 10 album is very exciting, can't wait to share this with everyone. We also have some big shows planned for later this year, which I can't really talk about now, but should be really special. I'll be getting back to Europe for the summer, and playing Ibiza is always something I look forward to.
How did the Pryda vs. Mau5trap part come about? Do you see a kinship between the labels? What does the music have in common, or you have in common with Joel Zimmerman a.k.a. Deadmau5?
I think we share a similar ethos, we both stay true to our roots and our musical heritage, I have much respect for Joel.

Nicolas Jaar would like you to forget what you know about Nicolas Jaar. The Chilean-American producer has cut an impressive figure in the dance community over the last few years, from 2011's beguiling debut Space Is Only Noise, to his increasingly well-regarded live performances that bridge the gap between his erudite, off-kilter creations and more traditionally body-moving fare. Not to mention the diverse, intriguing releases from other artists that came out on his own Clown & Sunset label. At the age of 23, Jaar's built the kind of CV that most post-collegiate twenty-somethings would kill for, but as we sling back a few Budweisers last month at the chic Brooklyn eatery River Styx, he's less interested in past glories, more invested in new beginnings.
"I feel the need to start clean," he says intently, decked in a comfortable-looking grey long-sleeve shirt. "It's been a year since I graduated college, and I feel like starting some shit in this crazy city." The first step: closing the doors on Clown & Sunset, a birthday present Jaar received when he was 19. "When I started it, I didn't know what the hell a label was," Jaar admits. "It took a lot of my time-- I was stupid, naive, immature, and not sure of what I was doing. I didn't know what I was getting into. I only knew that I didn't want to release my music through other people."
Darkside started taking shape as a project after the release of Space Is Only Noise, when Jaar and Epstein started putting together a full band for Jaar's live show. "I said to Will, 'Who's the best musician you know at Brown?' He said, 'Dave, he plays bass.' I said, 'Tell him to bring a guitar instead.'" Jaar and Harrington hit it off and formed a creative partnership that led to the oblong drones and glowing tones of Psychic. "Dave has experimental tastes, whereas my taste is more mainstream. We fit like a little puzzle. You can hear how we complete each other."
Psychic was recorded over the course of two years, split between time at Jaar's New York City home, Harrington's parents' barn upstate, and a temporary space in Paris that they stayed during downtime between tours; given the sporadic studio sessions, sustaining the album's front-to-back, constantly evolving vibe was a creative challenge during the recording process. "We wanted this record to feel experiential rather than musical, so we'd be going back into large chunks of the album saying, 'No, we need an organ really low in the mix here so we feel like it's still a world.' It's music, but it's also this little crystal orb that's full of these feelings that are crazy, and painful, and maybe ecstatic."

Laurent Garnier is set to join the ranks of 50 Weapons this April.
Late last year, the French techno kingpin mentioned in his Exchange that he had some music on the way for a handful of smaller underground labels, and that he'd be releasing it simply as Garnier. The AF 4302 EP, the 34th release in the Modeselektor-helmed techno imprint's catalog, will follow on a soon-to-drop record on Still Music. From the sound of it, it'll mine a similarly back-to-basics aesthetic with an "organic, raw, acid-flavoured techno sound."

You won't see him on the main stage at nearly any festival. His tracks don't grace the upper echelons of Beatport. He won't spray you with Dom P or thrust pastries at your noggin. And he'll probably never hop on a collabo with A$AP or Kanye. But in spite—or maybe because—of all that, John Digweed is still one of the most influential DJs in history.Digweed began DJing at the ripe age of 15, when most of us weren't even squiggly lines in our dads' "reserviors." He got his big break in 1993, when he got a gig at the Renaissance Club in Mansfield, UK after a fellow upstart named Alexander Coe—better known today as the techno/deep house messiah, Sasha.
Digweed made his name pushing a progressive house sound that eventually exploded in the late 90s and early 2000s across Europe and North America. In New York City, house music havens like Tunnel, Limelight, Paradise Garage and Twilo were booming. Both Digweed and Sasha held a popular residency at Twilo, where Digweed was revered for putting down marathon sets that often lasted between eight and twelve hours... until Twilo and many of those aformentioned clubs were raided and shutdown by Sgt. Buzzkill AKA NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani.
The end of NYC's hedonistic nightlife days was only a momentarty hiccup in the longstanding career of John Digweed. Since then, he's established the international label Bedrock Records, has released countless albums (including an impressive "Live In" series), and even took the throne of DJ Mag's Top 100 list in 2001.
But that was thirteen years ago, and the position now belongs to Hardwell, a DJ nearly half Digweed's age who is pushing a much different sound, to a much different audience, in a much different time.

das hatte noch nie was gesagt (ich sage nur talon reencoded zu 320kbit mixing.dj) Ich hätte es auch als 320kbit aufnehmen können und wäre kein Unterschied da gewesen (hörbar) Bringt mir und keinem was, die Festplatte wird schneller kleiner, für was!
Ich habe so eine gute Soundkarte die einiges wettmacht. Da alle SATs eh als 256kbit Mp2 ausgestrahlt werden, passt das bei gewisser hardware zum ausgleich !
Hast Du meins mal gehört? oder bist Du auch so einer der nach Bitrates downloaded, dann sollte ich meine Strategie sofort ändern LOL, Dir wäre da aufgefallen, das meines doch ausgereifter klingt (auch wenn es abgespeckter in der Bitrate ist!)
Hab Dir es mal im vergleich gleich gestellt:
(da hörst du mal das die scene gar keine SAT benutzt = lediglich stream (hab jetzt lediglich den schluss genommen ...)

naja nicht wirklich, so klingen nur doch den Druck ein wenig anders, aber besser wie ich finde !
Am besten merkst / hörst Du dieses auf engsten Raum (z.B. im Auto)
Ich mag es lieber knackig, als wenn ich noch irgendwo Bass auf +6 drehen muß und es dann überdreht klingt!

nope, nicht das ich wüßte! Lediglich über IZotope Ozone 5 hab ich ihn bezüglich eines knackigeren Basses ausjustiert, was mir so besser gefällt.
Ich kanns nur mit früher vergleichen und am besten merke ich das im Auto, in der kompletten Bandbreite klingt das leiser viel knackiger als früher, da muße ich bestimmt bei gleicher Lautstärken 4 Stufen hören stellen.
Aber Ansichtssache, falls es Dir nicht gefällt, bleibe bei Deinem alten gewohnten Muster !

Fairmont -Live- (My Favorite Robot Records) @ Analog Stage, NDSM Docklands - Amsterdam (20.04.2014)
The past few years have seen Fairmont spreading his musical wings, with the his techno killer ‘All Dreams Are Nightmares’ on Areal and the disco tinged ‘Emax/Bercy’ on Beachcoma, but it is perhaps with his recent gothic/indie inspired releases on Border Community and Traum that he has given the clearest insight to where his future sound lies.
That future has seen Jake Fairley join forces with one of Canada’s hottest exports of recent times, the ever- excellent My Favorite Robot Records. The Robot crew have been a long time followers of Fairmont’s career and when the opportunity came up to sign him for MFRR, they jumped at the chance: one listen to Fairmont’s latest LP and it’s abundantly clear that this was a very wise move. ‘Automaton’ is a perfect fit for the Toronto imprint with his dark & melancholic yet heart warming mix of richly produced electronica and vocal led songs.

Surgeon’s career may be well into its second decade, but it shows no signs of slowing down. Like his long-term running mate Karl O’Connor—aka Regis, who we recently spoke to for the 20th anniversary of his Downwards label—it’s fair to say that Anthony Child is as relevant to electronic music now as he has been at any point in the past 20 years. Whether defining the sound of Birmingham techno in the mid-90s, re-writing the electronic album rulebook with a series of brilliant LPs at the turn of the millennium, or antagonizing crowds with Regis as British Murder Boys in the early 2000s, Child’s output has never ceased to fascinate and inspire.
Do you have plans for another Surgeon LP?
Not at the moment. The primary focus, really, is this BMB live thing. And that’s created a lot of new material, so I’m sure we’re going to be working in the studio as well.

Berlin born DJ, producer and label owner Ben Klock is without a doubt one of the most significant characters in techno’s recent history. A resident at Berghain since its opening in 2004, he has been able to leave his mark on the club’s unique sound, in turn the special space influenced Klock’s approach as a DJ and producer as well.
Playing techno sets full of hypnotic, deep and heavy grooves, releasing records on Ostgut Ton and last but not least the aesthetics of his own label Klockworks, have earned him an excellent international reputation over the last few years. Supported by stringent and enthralling tracks, remixes for such diverse artists as Kerri Chandler, Martyn or DM, the revered debut album “One” on Ostgut Ton and his Berghain mix, Ben Klock’s name is synonymous with the vitalization of an essential definition of techno.

Es war unsere eigene Partyreihe, wir kannten ihn nicht, hatten ihn auch nicht gebucht, waren etwas verwirrt, morgens um sieben auch schon „etwas“ drüber, also ließen wir ihn gewähren. Nachdem er dreißig Minuten aufgelegt hatte, kam der Nightmanager und fragte, wer dieser DJ sei. Wussten wir auch nicht. Es stellte sich heraus, dass es sich schlicht um einen holländischen Gast handelte, der sein Glück frech herausforderte und sich mal eben einen kurzen Auftritt im Watergate erschlichen hatte."

InsideInfo returns to Viper Recordings with an unusual twist on the MC led single. Metamorphosis sees Miss Trouble take to the mic with an effortlessly smooth and sultry flow over a beat that oozes swagger, eschewing a full on approach in favour of a slightly more relaxed yet tough and bassy vibe.
Over on the flip Being provides a decent enough slice of dancefloor neurofunk with some nice bassline modulations, but to be honest the A side is the star of this show by a long chalk.

Get ready because Hamilton won't send out a warning before "Fire" destroys you. Blistering and bubbling as it tears through years of D&B influences in a matter of moments, it's a fast-paced ride and a half and there's no way to stop it. You might as well join with the flames. On the other side of the coin however, "Be There" is an altogether different kettle of fish. Stepping and squirming like a jacknifing juggernaut, it's a completely mad combination of boisterous bass and blissful, Nintendo-esque, melodies. There might even be a bit of mellow old Daft Punk vibe in there for good measure. Hear it and believe.
