Don't f**k with Brooklyn, oder wat?
Der Name Adam X rührt glaub ich noch aus seiner Zeit als aktiver Sprayer in NYC.

Source: Techno – The Rough Guide ISBN: 1-85828-434-1
One of New York’s best-known hard Techno DJs, Adam X’s formative years were spent in the company of some of the major forces on the East Coast’s embryonic dance scene – his early production partners included both Ray Love and Jimmy Cash – while his day job as buyer for the Brooklyn Groove record store (owned by his brother Frankie Bones), himself one of the seminal forces on the UK’s emerging rave scenes) provided a healthy conduit to the latest releases. His earliest, most enduring influences encompassed Sheffield “bleep” Techno, Kevin Saunderson and the harder, European strains of Frank de Wulf and CJ Bolland. By the time he became one the residents at NY’s Stromrave parties in 1992, he was already experimenting with his own distinctive, hard Acid sound. (Rob Acid )
1991’s “Listen” – a sample-oriented, breakbeat affair – launched his solo production career, though the sound that emerged on subsequent release such as “Lost in Hell” and “Into the Void” signaled a move towards the hard but funky minimalism which has become an Adam X trademark. A series of singles on labels such as Magnetic North, Drop, Bass Network, and Communiqué mapped an increasingly hard and rapidly acceleration production style that was perhaps best articulated by the title of X-Crash’s bruising “Don’t **** With Brooklyn”.
More recent offerings, such as 1997’s “Steel Giants” (on Neil Landstrumm’s Scandinavia label), demonstrated a more relaxed, loping funkiness. Audiobiography (1998) was still a resolututely minimal affair, with tracks such as “Self Destruction” and “Road Rage” connection to a now established network of producers, such as Neil Landstrumm, Justin Berkovi, DJ Rush, who were engaging with the looser formats of dancefloors experimentalism. A hybrid of the sound first mapped out by New York’s Nu Groove label and the sinewave Techno of early Sheffield , 1999’s “Reverse Forward” may offer some indication of where he is headed.

hier ist seine bio vom sonic groove website (sonicgroove.com):
Adam X's stand-for-what-you-believe-in attitude mixes perfectly with his unique brand of post-techno, post-industrial electronics. This obscure fuel for the dance floor has transformed into a diabolical mixture of sonic abrasion and techno assault, whose long-lasting abrasions have quickly spread word, successfully bringing Adam X to nearly every unsuspecting crowd and dance floor around the world-- only after 10+ years experience in this blatantly unforgiving dog-beat-dog business. Trademark mottos inherent at Sonic Groove emerge from its leaders, for instance, defiance of classification. This has been a standard that can be traced back from Adam X's youthful, graffiti-punk days of self-expression-- a throw-up of local innocence collaged with a collapsing infrastructure of global indifference and probably a powerful +1 magnet to your own psyche. Instead of processing commercially redundant, tried-but-true, rock star techniques and using them as hit making guarantees, Adam X has remained steadfast in his efforts to assemble an honest interpretation for everyday beliefs. An attitude as such, does not go unnoticed. Adam X recently headlined for exclusive events like the 2002 Detroit Musical festival, which attracted over one million global techno enthusiasts. Seasoned techno-believers like Andrew Weatherall have had Adam X appear at their exclusive London based Haywire gig and Adam X has also appeared at countless events across Europe and the continental United States. What matters most to Adam X is his soundtrack; the diary of everyday sound and his final recorded words explaining this so-called occurrence called life. His most recent recordings embrace a deliberately more industrial feel, drawing equally from influences of 80's EBM and macabre current events. You never know what to expect, except that his subliminally inclined rhythms will embody all possible aspects of the underground experience. For more information on Adam X, please contact Sonic Groove Records at 212.675-5284 or email: adamxdestroys@yahoo.com
