Ein Grund für meine Zurückhaltung sind gewisse Seiten, die ua. meine recording zur Geldwäsche nutzen, sie ohne gnade auf 320kbit reencoden und als ihres eigenes ausgeben ... nee nee sowas muß ich mir nicht geben. Somit lade ich sporadisch nur noch standard aufnahmen hoch (ua. radio recordings + auserwählte club recordings) ![[professor]](graemlins/professor.gif)
Vielleicht ändert sich wieder mal was, aber habs auch die letzten 3 Monate mit der Zurückhaltung ausgehalten, sollen die Leute doch weiterhin die billig kopierseiten besuchen und sich verarschen lassen

2012-08-04 - The Prototypes (Shogun Audio) @ Annie Nightingale Show, BBC Radio 1
After an astonishing rise to fame DJ and production duo The Prototypes have rapidly become one of the most recognized names among the 'new breed' in drum and bass. Now they`re exclusively signed to Friction`s Shogun Audio family
Their infectious track 'Cascade' has brought them massive Radio 1 support from the likes of Zane Lowe, Annie Nightingale, Annie Mac, Fabio & Grooverider and had also earned them a highly acclaimed mini-mix as part of Jaguar Skills' Jag Fest'. All this plus forthcoming remixes on Ninja Tune & Sony BMG, the boys are demonstrating serious versatility.
The Prototypes will no doubt bring a different angle to the current spectrum and are a welcome addition to the Shogun family. Interesting things to come from these ones; be prepared for some fatal releases, and even an LP in the near future.

2012-08-02 - Shlohmo (Friends of Friends, Error Broadcast) @ Benji B Exploring Future Beats, BBC 1
Browsing the vinyl racks at your favorite record store and coming across the name Shlohmo might be a bit of a mystery. A name like that could mean either traditional klezmer music or alcohol-soaked fraternity band. Luckily (with all due respect to klezmer masters), Shlohmo is a different beast entirely. Beat maestro Henry Laufer has been concocting a potent mix of dirty south, avant beats, slow jam soul, and hip hop for some time on LA based Friends of Friends aka FoF Music. After releasing his first EP in 2009, Shlohmo started making waves with the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs and Daddy Kev from Low End Theory. Since then, Henry has kept busy with more releases including two full length albums and several EPs and 12"es, all released to much critical acclaim. With beats that point to a maturity level far beyond his age, we are predicting frightening consequences to come.

Mal eine Zwischenfrage, die gut hier reinpasst:
Mittlerweile ist mir das Herunterladen fast zu aufwendig und dauert auch zu lange. Finde fast immer was bei itunes als Podcast, was ich dann per Antippen runterlade und so auch direkt überall mit Kopfhörer oder Bluetooth Audio hören kann.
Geht es vielen anderen auch so, oder stehe ich ziemlich alleine da, weil das Angebot an Livesets doch begrenzt ist? Kennt vielleicht jemand noch suchenswerte Podcasts, die auch Livesets verschiedenster Genres anbieten?

ich interessiere mich eigentlich auch nicht mehr für Livesets und lade eigentlich nur noch was runter wenn es von der eigenen Party war, es empfohlen wurde oder von einen der Blogs dich ich so nebenbei verfolge kommt.
Das ganze Captcha und Speedbegrenzungsgedöns nervt dabei sowieso. Also saug ich dann auch nur wenn es vom eigenen derver kommt oder auf Soundcloud liegt.

Most people that really love music remember that one moment that changed everything. Sounds that opened worlds, club nights that turned their lives around. And then there’s the select few who, having gone through an epiphany like this, go on to create moments like these. Ata is one of the latter. Upon returning to Ffm from a life-altering club night in Barcelona, Ata decided he wanted to be a DJ, and has since come a long way – from his early days at Delirium record store, unforgettable nights at the Omen or his seminal Wild Pitch Club. Since then he has co-founded the (very nearly holy) trinity of the Playhouse, Klang and Ongaku labels. Amongst all this it would be easy to forget that he is still a DJ at the prime of his powers if it weren’t for his marathon sets that still have the power to turn lives around. The one and only Ata. Robert Johnson’s mac daddy and German DJ icon dropping the goods at his club’s 13 year anniversary bash.

Attempted by so many people vainly, Dominik Eulberg is the one who can claim for himself having reconciled ornithology and techno successfully. Since he released his first disc in 2003 on Traum Schallplatten, the superior producer disperses ecological expertise and the sound of chirping birds in his tracks. He uses nature as a contentual and dramaturgical source of inspiration for his productions since 1993. In 2007 Dominik was awarded the "Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik" for his second album "Heimische Gefilde", with which he achieved a lot for the generation-spanning acceptation of techno. He was even voted for Newcomer and Producer of the year. After all one wants to take his audience on a journey, not wanting to ditch it at the ticket counter.

From being the rock kid at the rave, to the Israeli DJ on the European club circuit, to the electronic producer with a fetish for live instruments, he tends to skirt the edge of whatever scene he's in. It's a position that suits him well––so far it's led to dozens of lush, melodic records, an ever-evolving live act and his own label, Supplemen
t Facts. This nonconformist attitude, combined with the emotional content of his art (so rare in today's electronic music), explains how Gerber keeps his audience locked in, be it on record or on stage.
Before he was fiddling with drum machines and synths, Gerber was all about groups like Joy Division and My Bloody Valentine. These influences still echo clearly in his music today, especially in his use of harmony, contemplative moods and trippy, shoegaze-inspired sounds. It's a style that's anything but conventional, yet one that quickly drew in some of Europe's most popular labels; three years after his recording debut, Gerber released the first of several records on John Digweed's Bedrock imprint. A couple of years later, Sven Väth signed him to Cocoon, eventually releasing his album Late Bloomers. All the while, he was building Supplement Facts from the ground up, showcasing his own productions alongside those by likeminded artists, and illustrating each record sleeve by hand, so each release embodied his distinct creative panache.
These days Gerber has the kind of artistic freedom he's always wanted, and it shows. Supplement Facts is more adventurous than ever, melding organic with electronic sounds. Meanwhile, he's embarked on his most unexpected project yet: an album with P Diddy, who hired him for some remixes and took him on more permanently after hearing the results. Now the hip-hop icon flies Gerber out to his studio in LA to work, where he gives him “2000% artistic freedom.” The experience has been transformative.“Something opened my mind out there,” says Gerber, noting how his approach to music has changed. For one, his rock roots are seeping back in; despite being named one of RA's top 10 acts of the year, he's scrapping his laptop for something more “live,” playing bass guitar over drum machines, and remembering the importance of lyrics. It's impossible to say where all of this is headed, but with a talent as bold and unorthodox as Gerber's, it couldn't happen any other way.

2012-09-15 - The Zoo Project Festival 2012 - 02 - Sasha (Last Night On Earth, emFire) @ Port Lymphe Wild Animal Park (UK)
It would be an understatement to call Britain’s Alexander Coe a DJ pioneer. As Sasha, he had led dance music since the late '80s and has built a legacy that few, if any, DJs will ever match.
Sasha’s debut longplayer is also considered by some to be one of electronic music’s most underrated works of genius. The 11-track opus played like a mystical voyage through the dark and beautiful side of dance music. As it moved quite brilliantly between poignant breakbeat, moving melodies, and deep four-to-the-floor grooves, it captured both his immense studio talents, and his ability to segue multiple genres, electronic rhythms and sounds into one epic piece of music.
Sasha will soon become a curator of quality dance music too. After a brief record label experiment (EmFire), Sasha will launch his own imprint this year called Last Night On Earth. The label will be Sasha’s home for supporting exciting new electronic music talent and his new solo productions. And surely, Sasha being Sasha, the label will be a resounding success.
How to explain his Midas touch though? Well Sasha answered that 20 years ago, in that first Mixmag article: “Seeing my face in a magazine is great, but the DJing is what it is all about”.

The annual event on the Crimean Black Sea in the Ukraine will take place from July 31st to August 18th this year. 2012 marks its 20th anniversary. The event styles itself as a "republic" rather than a festival proper. The press release describes it as "a stable democracy with its own constitution that guarantees rights and freedoms to every citizen," with its attendees as "republicans." Festivities begin on the 31st, where republicans can organize and celebrate on the festival site for five days before the opening party (or "Apotheosis") on August 4. The tickets are styled as "republican visas," good for entry for the entire duration of the event. The site will feature six dance floors, 30 bars and restaurants, "various weird architectural structures," two open air cinemas, and even three "kitesurfing stations."

The Gaslamp Killer is a Los Angeles-based DJ whose eclectic style ranges from psychedelia and world music to dubstep and left-field hip-hop. Associated with Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder Records, he made his production debut in the late 2000s with a series of EPs. Born William Benjamin Bensussen, he originally comes from San Diego, California, whose downtown Gaslamp District's bar scene inspired him to name himself The Gaslamp Killer in disgust for much of the patronage. Upon relocating to Los Angeles, he found a niche for himself amid the city's massive underground party scene and ultimately found a home for himself as a resident DJ at the club Low End Theory, which resulted in a series of club-sponsored podcasts. He released his first album, Breakthrough, on Brainfeeder in September 2012.

Distance hails from the South London dubstep nucleus and is an originator of the dubstep sound. He has been involved in its development since its early years and has produced tracks with the likes of Skream, Benga, Pinch and Cyrus.
With a background of heavy metal and experimental industrial music, his approach to dubstep is truly different to any others. Whilst many producers reference influences such as King Tubby to Lee Scratch Perry, Distance main influence hails from the likes of Sepultura, Pantera and Fear Factory. Distance as producer, DJ and label owner (Chestplate Records), has been pushing things in a direction all of his own. Gathering early support from the legendary John Peel and going on to be part of the utterly seminal Dubstep Warz show on Radio 1 presented by Mary Anne Hobbs, Distance has forged a name for himself as a critical figure in the scene. Distance is a regular at the seminal raves such as FWD, DMZ, Exodus, SUB: DUB and more. His Dj bookings have taken him across the globe where he devastates dance floors and sound systems in his own unimitable style. Distance's recorded output is also formidable, finding homes on labels as underground and seminal as Hotflush, Tectonic and Boka in his early career, to ending up on the world reputed Planet Mu, on which Distance released his debut album in 2007. Distance's studio has spawned multiple stone cold killers over a range of styles but all uniquely Distance, highlighting why his new releases are some of the most highly anticipated in the scene.
If you’re a fan of heavy metal, industrial rock, dub, reggae and techno….then this is the sound for you. Though hard to relate these binary opposite genres together, somehow...Distance does just that.

Hailing from Sussex, James’ forays into music production began back in 2006. Iin 2010 he was introduced to the world of 170bpm dance music. Since then he hasn’t looked back, immersing himself in the so und and hitting as many nights as possible in Brighton and London.
Setting sights on making his mark as a hotly tipped young talent in the ever expanding drum and bass scene, he was brought to the attention of Viper Recordings boss Futurebound who signed his first 2 tracks Stellar and Breach released in March 2012.
Andy C has since picked up James' track Iodine which is forthcoming on Ram. June sees him playing at Fabric which will be followed shortly by his next release, Sleep It Off released as part of Viper's Summer Slammers Compilation
