James Holden’s triumphant return to the simply perfect Nachtdigital festival in the east of Germany is set to be one of our personal highlights of the impending summer, and this time promises to be even more fun than usual as we get to bring the whole crew with us to host a special “Nachtdigital Loves Border Community” stage.
The pounding Nathan Fake (live), pagan channeller Luke Abbott (live), low slung acid-man Avus and technotronicist Wesley Matsell will be complementing Nachtdigital darling James Holden’s music-for-dancing-and-entrancing to bring the full Border Community experience to the idyllic holiday park in Olganitz. We’re even transporting the inimitable An’Unexpectacle of our London Border Community night fame, who visits vigourously intent on renewing sensation with a sample of his many inhibition-lowering delights, whilst Dan “50 Megadrives” Tombs will deliver our visual presence.
Other guests at the intimate two-stage lakeside weekend festival include Ada, Chateau Flight, Fantastikoi Hxoi, Floating Points, Lusine, Margaret Dygas, Mathias Kaden, Redshape and Drums, Scuba, Steffan Benneman, Supermayer and Theo Parrish, as well as a showcase of emerging local talent from Dresden in the “Uncanny Valley”: visit the Nachtdigital website for the complete list.
The only downside is that festivals as perfect as this one sell out long before their line-up is even announced, so if you are not already going then I am afraid you don’t stand much chance of laying your hands on ticket. But we can say that you would be hard pushed to find a more cosy and civilised electronic music festival, so I would recommend keeping an eye out for next year’s tickets as soon as they go on sale, and wait patiently for the pleasant surprise of their ever on-it line-up announcement!
