Concept

The six components of ego
1. Money stinks.
2. Cause of 1. everything is for free.
3. We are style-free but stylish.
4. It's about free highly qualitiv musik (art) distribution.
5. Further this platform used as a form of cooperation of free artists.
6. The ego with the individual perspective still stay importent for the seal of the label beside the cooperative components.

Our concept contains the possibility of releases of individual and collective musicians. Furthermore the individual esthetic cognition of artists against their music shouldn't exceed the collectives cognition.
Shorttext: Shit doesn't belong to us but otherwhere. If you are the opinion that your material corresponding our qualitiv claims then send us your demos via post to the address in our contact or via link per mail. Please don't send us directly any data but rather only links to the data! With the release the artists are engaged to two conditions.
1. The artist is liable for abuse on samples.
2. Every release engaging the artists to give us a set of samples or loops of the tracks.
These given samples will be presented to everyone to allow them to create own new high-qualitiv and creative music. Of these incoming material we choose high qualitivst to release them as collective release.

The first release of Phonout (Oskar Rudzki) is directly with beginning of the netlabel available. In some parts of the virtual german techno scene, phonout is well known and his name is a synonym for funky electronic downbeat up to funky touched 4/4tel techno. I am dealing with the difference between commercial and noncommercial electronic music for a long time. Both layers has the virtual synthesis of tone fragments as origin. However new to the modern electronic music are acoustic sounds that are electronically preprocessed. But these element appear meanwhile very often in both layers. Where is the difference between these layers? Therefore you need to complain the commercial due in electronic music. With the economical view, a product is commercial when it's getting sold. Then higher the selling rate then higher the commercial factor of the music. How can you raise the commercial factor out of the commercial view? First I need to say that it consists of more then one factor. For example, the medial influences to the society and the single individual. For me the fact is enough, that electronic music is befallen by standards. These standards of electronic music had to established in the course of time. They had embossed the individuals perceptions in concerning music. Further you can say music that accomplish these standards work. Individuals are more exposed to that kind of music because its simple to understand. Some of these standards obtain to the kind of melodies that conform a well known pattern or a kind of arrangement that act implanting with the help of repetitive patterns. Standards are also implemented in soundscapes by choosing well defined instruments that can be reproduced electronical as well as acoustical. However we all know the phenomenon of boring music. Music which not advance by-and-by will age and act obsolete. At this point we can speculate if the musical advance is oscilating, it raise continously or it is a combination of both. The past showed that it could be a combination of both but it's not urgent. So the music has to advance. Anyhow, in the process of musical advance there are instructions that you need to follow when you want to earn commercial success. You have to get away form standard patterns with small steps and (maybe) create a kind of new sound. Only a small percentage of the music contingent get changed. If you drift away too much, you will run the risk of getting uncommercial because of a lack of understanding. You can define a standardized median from where you can drift away to advance your music. But the fact that individuals getting embossed by society is making it hard to create something new within free creativ rudiments. Most its about deformation of allready experienced and embossed cognition. The discribed method I call "additive process". The pendant is the "subtractive process". In this process the basis is, not the socially predefined creative moment of legislating like the basis of the "additive process" but the non determinism which is untouched of that moment. The basic material is unaffected by embossing and give us the chance to shape like in the "additive process". Thats why the "subtractive process" got an enormous advantage over the "additive process". We can move our sound from the abstractness to the standard with the help of our creative moment. To move away from the basis of the "additive process" we need raising creative effort, while the "subtractive process" only need constant effort to move down to the standardized median.

The "subtractive process" I choosen to compose the tracks of this LP. It was easy to make such complex soundscapes and I am impressed how enormous the deepness of some sounds cooperate with the tightness of randomized "clicks'n'cuts".

This EP is based upon the shortfilm "Das Buch" written and produced by Carsten Buch as the practical part of his diploma. It deals with the story of the film and mirrors it into a 4 track EP making the feelings of the protagonist hearable and giving the interested listener the possibility to sympathize with this feelings. At the same time this EP is the continuation of this film by starting, where the film has ended and ending, where the film has started. The logical conclusion of film and EP is a redundancy of the feelings, the protagonist has. This fact leads to a point of the plot, where this man will eat up himself from his inside because of his feelings. It is a cruel and insane world.
The production of this EP was a combination of different methods. The first track arised out of the sounddesign of the film itself. It was part of this sounddesign and because of this is used at the end of the film for the credits. After that I have recycled myself by sampling loops of this track and creating new sounds out of this. Thats the way the other tracks have been produced. All tracks are a combination of minimalistic techno, playfullness and soundscapes carrying different feelings. Although they are very different in style, you can hear that these tracks belong together somehow, they are sort of relatives. /by Carsten Buch

Since the human kind, ways have to be overcome. The human average speed of 5 km/h was enough to push the advancement forward and overcome this natural limit. Space seems to lose its relevance during the technically evolutionary process. Uses of natural forces help the humans to conquer the earth and the water as their transportation medium. In constant motion over the dialogue of cultures, the humans even had conquered the air. The transport of many humans as possible at the same time as before but over further areas implies the structure of complex networks. At the moment this development reflects in the worldwide airport structure. The rising air traffic and the associated bureaucratic expenditure let the individual shrink to a minimum wherewithal. Numbers, prices, arrivals, losses, and these data move over other still faster ports. The humans are getting charges of a supernatural machine. But this tied reductions of the individual characteristics cause wrong numbers, losses, errors. Hermeneutic view of the world ad absurdum. This pitiful attempt to control the nature of the universe, to impose it regularity, fails also again and again at the interface of the homohomosapiens, called the airport. Departure is not always on time, arrival is not always at the correct place, canceled flights, and all of these factors need to be accepted. Often these irregularities are a reason why the individual wake up of its forced function. Pleasure of the unforeseeable, the spontaneous can make one second become an unique and unexchangeable experience. Finally humans are pleased when they can escape from the artificial spiral of regularity because of an error in the system. Like a sunbeam breaks itself in rain, this breakout can become as beautiful as a rainbow.

Recently I heard a story, there was this guy, an actor, who came from the province. And it was at the province theatre where he was discovered by a director from a big city, and invited him to his group. The young actor was very happy, but his hapiness was soon to fade. On early rehearsals before the first night performance the director noticed that other members of the group treat him like an outsider. "You don't belong here, You're not one of us" - they would say. Soon he was under such a pressure that he resigned, and returned to his province theatre.

That city - it was not Warsaw. It just couldn't be Warsaw. Why? Because Warsaw is a city of wanderers. No one comes from here. They all come frome somewhere else. If you dare to stop somebody in the street, the possibility that he'd be a native citizen, whose ancestors' remains would still lay buried under the ground of this city would be close to none. Various philosophies of life, ideas, mems and informations - everything mixes up in this place. Because this city is open to everything new - to the limits of decency. This city is both naive, and full of trust - to the limits of stupidity. It absorbs like a sponge everything brought in by "people from someplace", and stirs with the rest of the chaos of information, transforming it into fractal patterns, like on a painter's palette, banning to grow any status quo.

This is the source of my inspiration, the source I draw from - and the one I try to contribute to.

Lightness and distortion carry through futuristic urban places, where replicants and androids cavort. Sounds that are aroused by a dream-like way of life, that hypnotise with contrariness. Sound-collages with slightly phlegmatic but mostly melancholic mood, that carries through the minutes with controlled airiness. Maybe it sounds like if it would break out every second, which lets evolve unsynchronously-synchronous and controversial soundschemes. Smashed tranquilness in a thousand pieces.

Abstract Avenue are Liam-Arthur Berent and Andrej Mühlberg from Munich. Both born '83 in the erroconcrete affected landscapes of Russia. Since '95 they life in Munich and for four years they are making musik. Abstract Avenues don't work with presets. Their sound isn't clean and rules have no importance. Thats their style.

The fixed is a delusion! Constant things obtain to closed systems. Till now, truly closed systems are undiscovered, hypothetical nature or just apparently closed constructs of the human imagination. The absence of constant appearances, forces in our selves the urge of searching those fixed constants, or to create those for a self satisfiying delusion, if necessary. Those designed constants are convicted to fail in the origin moment. The delusion that the earth is a disc is just a delusion, even if it was approved for a long time. All is evolutionay! Only the kinetic is a stable constant. Solid appearances seem to mutate, for us don't mentioned. If you gonna hit a rock it could be that you aren't guilty, cause each rock has its own speed.

"In the past two years, Moritz has been busy studying arts at the famous KHM in Cologne; nevertheless, he didn't loose his aim to release his album somewhere someday. Several fine-tuning, collaborations and mastering-sessions later, he was finally able to draw a line under the production, and here it is!

Being part of the Heidelberg downbeat-scene, Moritz started pretty smooth. He soon developed his style for the great glitch-wave swapped over from the UK and tracks became more abstract. The 'Orange Album' manages to keep the fragile balance between IDM-experiments and an idea of round-the-corner pop. Due to that, Moritz proves himself as a master of styles. Beneath the unique atmosphere, he turns from noisy ambient to minimal house, switches to some smooth techno-tunes und fades elegant from hiphop to electronica.
The LP features a guest production of David Moufang alias Move D, some guitar playing by Matthias Conrad and additional glitches from 12rec.'s own Jens Grünhagen (aka Lunte of Sichtbeton).

The umbrella had three holes. Is this the lose of gods love? A dream enclosing the thoughts and carries the spirit back to the shore. Previous rinsed away by rain. Shell purgation. Wild-wandering, lost-searching, desperate-winding, consumptive-troubling itself. It is hard. Nothing is for free. But only who isn't searching would protect himself of the mistake. The description of a flower leads to a wrong result. That is the last conclusion of sophistication. The shore is afar, washing at the basin. The self is surreal transformed to you. Suppressed by thoughts of the own being. Bound to the location of the here and now. Found the destination. Room Nr.1

What happened the morning before? Probably you woke up once again. Probably too early from the view of yourself. Maybe too late from the view of the obligation. But how does it deal with this music? Why is this release called "Der Morgen Davor"? Because the artwork shows a window at 5 am? Because of the easygoing morning before I slept, at the same time? There is no true reason. In general there is no big story depending this music. Enjumi's music doesn't want to change the world or show a "new", "better" kind of thinking or way of life. The sense is pretty simple, making music. To put down short ideas that crossing his mind. There's no srict style dominating his music. "Crossover" in it's primary definition.

ehrlich gesagt, meine erwartungen waren nicht himmelhoch. als du vor gut 2 jahren den minimal style losgetreten hast im tf, hatte das ganze so etwas frisches und authentisches. vor allem die letzten postings im mytracks liessen das vermissen, wie wenn du dich in deinen stil eingenistet hättest.

mit diesem album hingegen sehe ich dich wieder ganz vorne mit dabei. geniales intro, gefolgt von tracks, in denen deine handschrift (trotz collabos) immer erkennbar ist. die stimme ist jetzt selbstbewusster, die texte auch. der sound immer noch roh, aber voller überraschungen, von track zu track. jede nummer für sich und ein hit. reifes ding.

ist ne schöne lp länge und ja: ich würde ohne lang zu überlegen zuschlagen (und ich kauf mir 1-2 platten im monat oder so).

Engine7 is a project by Alan McNeill from Glasgow. We're releasing his Hope Street EP in a renewed cooperation with 12rec., after the netlabel he previously dealt with, µHz, had to cease operations. Alan got in contact with Legoego's Dataman (who also did the mastering) to find a new home for his tracks, so here we are. His music is not easy to describe. To me, it sounds a little 90's, but without being retro. Consider artists like tricky, portishead or dj shadow you might get an impression of the mood and the sound Engine7, at least partly, represents. The glitch of postmodern UK electronica seems to play no further role in his productions. Nevertheless, it's the influence of independent rock, or even pop music that makes his EP this remarkable. Alan doesn't try to make innercity coffee bars sound better. He digs himself into sound and melody, bringing odd musical ideas like uncut diamonds to the surface; it feels like listening to a my bloody valentine-record for the first time: you can't believe where these harmonies come from!

Postrock and triphop, to name the genres you mustn't name, share - next to melodic deepness - a somehow repetetive flow, emerging from sample patterns as well as minimal instrumentals. Alan manages to link these genres without writing 'avantgarde' on his forehead. He gives them an ambient reprise, not afraid of adding expanded voice-sampling (stella, we're sorry), slight singing or neo-classical film music (you'll hear sounds like a reference to joe hisaishi). Great release, thank you Alan, thank you 12rec.!

auf Legoego finden die utopien der elektronischen musik als hoffnungserfüllender futurismus statt..
einfach famos, welcher level hier stoisch unbeirrt hochgehalten wird, ob durch Herrn Minimal/Oskars eigenes oder treffsicher aufgespürtes material anderer.

Engine7 ist ein indietronics-release, wie ihn City Centre Offices gern gebracht hätte.

This is a short and spontaneous impression inspired by this music.

It is november. The sun is faint and isn't on our side anymore. The days are short as our steps getting shorter guessing the lurking coldness. Gaffes are unvaluable. However, we take the venture to step forward despite the imminent consequences. The curiosity wins again. Untouched, braving the arbitrariety its leads us on it's uncertain path. With rushing speed, passing the time, you fall into the space sometimes. It annihilates us, energy getting released. As free as it adopts the spectrum of light and endoves us the wamrth of its light that is missing within the coldness. What a pleasure but also so unfamiliar, strange at least. We hold it, we keep it, bevor of being a stranger is crunching us to dust. Dust that is so finely granulated that the wind won't able to blow it away in any direction.

The story continues. As they realized the reality, they were freed. Anything was possible. Unexpected trails, unexpected horizons. Like the awakening of a longly keeped coma. A coma full of surreal dreams. Seemingly unlimited, but in reality unlimited confined. They bethinked themselves. Collected power through imagination. It was like an intoxication as it began to affect. Complete insouciance about the consecutions made them to disposers of nothingness. An universal dialog of eternal motion. Leaving the chains of appearance they became one with the realtiy of the moment, the moment of perserverative alternations. Halt for a moment. Again and again.

Part II of the "Moments Triology" is this selection of "Warsaw Soul" remixes. Tekdev69 has invited several artists to reinterprete his work which was released as ego005. The result is a progressive but still homogenic EP. We hope it will provide you some sweet moments.

verhangende, dunstige tracks, die in zeitlupe gedankenrückstände ausspeien. wie die 'schwarzen raucher' der tiefsee überdruck aus dem erdinneren emittieren.
meist sind es skizzen oder miniaturen; mit track 1, 2, 10 ("zweiundvierzig trauben" - bester!) und 16 hat man ein wirkungsvolles konzentrat dessen, was dieses release ausmacht; der rest bringt nicht darüberhinaus, muß aber auch nicht.

doch nochmal mit dem delay als zentralem animateur anfreunden? wenn sich durch ganze ozeane gegraben wird wie hier, muß man jedenfalls mit.
nummer 3 zieht am meisten an. dicht, aber in den zwischenräumen versinken geht, auch wenn's eng wird.

erst mal Kanzleramt-techno mit mehr euro/dub- als detroit-prägung, nur besser (als die letzten KAs).
wirkt wie die evolution der vorigen ego011, mit weniger dominantem delay und dafür mehr anderen ausdrucksmitteln.
spannt dann mit den letzten 3 tracks einen schlüssigen, dichten bogen zu langsameren tempi - besonders der letzte track davon ein highlight!

kazooo setzt seine lange releaseliste quer durch die tonangebende netlabellandschaft und hier die clubbige linie der letzten legoegos fort. urbanes vorandrängen, diesmal mehr durch den tunnel als in die breite.
einnehmendes monochromes verheimlichen. track 2 und 3 meine favoriten.

versonnen und unbeschwert.. ultragain und number 22 sind electronica-nummern erster kajüte. die unerträgliche leichtigkeit des seins..

warum die covers nur immer CD-format sein wollen? niemand brennt sich eine drittel CD mit einer EP und druckt sich dazu ein cover. davon abgesehen sind das stets sehr individuelle, gut gemachte graphische gimmicks.

Ich warte nach wie vor auf ihr Album. Dieses was in Arbeit zu sein scheint, war noch vor wenigen Wochen auf ihren eigenen Labelpages www.acrylik.net angekündigt. Im Moment ist die Seite leider gänzlich off. Ich hoffe das sich dahinter nur ein Update und kein endgültiges aus für das acrylik label verbirgt.
Leider bleiben emails unbeantwortet darum bleibt nichts als abzuwarten was da noch kommen mag.
