Binaural 05 | Water
This release consists small scale performances of splashes, bubbles, drips and more which I tried to capture as big as possible. I say small scale as everything was recorded in the studio with a bucket full of water and a few other props. I setup the dummy vertically with it's face above the water. Several times things got a bit out of hand resulting in water getting on the floor and the dummy getting splashed in the face. Luckily both the floor and the dummy survived.

Cinematic Synthetic Drums

The concept for Cinematic Synthetic Drums (or simply, "CSD") was simple enough: many modern film, TV and game scores use a rich variety of both acoustic and electronic material. In particular, composers often seek crisp electronic drums that fit nicely alongside orchestral and melodic synth sounds. However, most electronic drum libraries consist of rehashed drum machine sounds as opposed to new and exciting material. So, we made our own, using subtractive synthesis, FM, wavetable, additive and many other types of sound generation and mangling techniques.
Every drum hit has 10x variations and a smooth, snappy velocity response. We created multiple categories of sounds, all mapped intuitively across the keyboard menu-style: bassy hits/kicks, snares and mid/high-range hits, hats, thips, splashes, and crashes. We also included custom bass drops (great for trailers!) and even a set of textural sounds like bass drones, big reverses, and stabs. All drums are 100% synthesized from scratch - we're talking entirely new material. No tired drum machines or rehashed recordings.
To accompany this arsenal of 65+ sounds, CSD includes a custom scripted UI. Each individual drum has its own individual pitch and volume control, along with global controls for pitch, volume and release. Five special FX keyswitches allow for live triggering of distortion, amping, bitcrushing, phasing and rotation, while an ensemble-maker turns single hits into thunderous groups. Plus, the library is lightweight; only a few hundred megabytes requiring very little RAM.
But perhaps the best part of CSD is its price. A mere zero dollars and zero cents. The honest truth is that we created this library because, well, we wanted to use it ourselves. So, we figured, why not share it with you? We hope you'll enjoy CSD and use it in many of your own compositions, be they film scores, game soundtracks, pop, trance, dubstep or anything in between!

Limited by Nature - Sound Library by strawMan
This library was created for personal use, with the intention of generating timbres and atmospheres from violin, harmonica and singing bowl. I'm now letting it into the wild in the hope that you find it useful or inspiring.
Recorded with two stereo pairs under a leaky bridge, the intentional capture of ambiance with instrument gives the sounds a unique grainy and highly textural character, and a distinct sense of place.
This is not a sample pack aimed at specific genres, but a collection of sonic material intended to be further manipulated.
It wont be for everyone, but it might be for you.

Riemann hat ja zahlreicher Libraries mit diversen anderen Musikern veröffentlicht, die mich immer sehr an 'Brot & Butter' erinnerten, weil man immer irgendwie und irgendwo ganz gut Verwendung finden konnte, ob man jetzt mal 'ne saftige Kick sucht oder 'ne einfache Snare, sofern man nicht unbedingt was aussergewöhnlich Experimentelles wollte, war und ist man bei Riemann eigentlich immer ganz gut bedient und aktuell bietet er kostenfrei 'ne 'best of 2017'-Sammlung (957MB / 309 x 24-bit Wave-Dateien) an, die ich prinzipiell jedem an's Herz legen kann, statt sonst knapp 30 Euronen. Bin mir sicher, dass jeder von euch den ein oder anderen nützlichen Sound findet, was nicht benötigt ist (irgendwelche Acid-Loops o.a.) kann man notfalls, äh, ja recyclen im Trashcan *g*

A unique bagpipes library, using the mantle of a large squid as the bag. This was not a durable instrument in the long term, obviously, but existed long enough to record these samples before being eaten.
Why? Because in Warhammer, goblins play squigpipes made from a squiggly beast. According to lore, they sound much more cacophonous than bagpipes. Inspired by that, we came up with squidpipes, and they do sound cacophonous indeed.

"'Grained Violin' — The Klang of March - While playing around with Guitar FX pedals, René and Ege wondered what it would sound like if fed by a violin. So they quickly taped some piezo contact mics to the violin and sent it through some granular pedals as well as weird modulated delays and reverbs. After recording a lot of material they sorted all the recordings and came up with three very inspiring patches: Grained Pizzicato, Grained Col Legno and Grained Longs - together they are the new Klang instrument."

Heute veröffentlichter Kontakt-Freebie von Rast, hier leider stark beschränkt, da der gleiche Content mit mehr Funktionen noch als kostenpflichtige Version veröffentlicht wird.
Generell sind die Rast-Bibliotheken an sich recht fein, oftmals aber leidet n.m.E-. die Flexibilität und Spielbarkeit, d.h. man fühlt sich nicht selten ziemlich eingeschränkt, was die Funktionen innerhalb Kontakt betrifft. Dafür sind sie andererseits im Vergleich zu anderen Libraries auch nicht unfassbar teuer. Aber über'n Freebie per se darf man sowieso nicht meckern, viel Spaß mit dem künstlichen Kor. Äh-. Chor.

Die Freebies finde ich nach wie vor phänomenal und nutze sie derzeit sehr oft und gern und werde die Tage mal auch die kostenpflichtigen Libraries ansehen bzw. in die Audio-Demos hören, weil'n Fünfer pro Library mehr als akzeptabel ist:

Zum gestrigen Start des neuen Berliner Sample-Projekts Parrotcan.com gibt's aktuell einige der Artist-Libraries bzw. Instrumente (u.a. für Ableton Live 10, Bitwig, Kontakt, Battery / NI Maschine & Logic) für kostnix und ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr mit 'nem Download und ein bisschen Feedback dieses Projekt meines Bekannten (The Franks) unterstützt.
Die Idee ist es, dass die Artists tatsächlich genau die (uneffektierten) Sounds anbieten, die sie selbst für ihre Produktionen nutzen/nutzten - und eben nicht die B-Ware, wie man sie so oft in zahllosen Sample-Libraries findet:

Frage dazu:
Anscheinend stelle ich mich gerade zu doof an:
Ich erinnere mich, dass ich vor ein paar Monaten die einzelnen Stems (also Vocals, Drums, Synths...) extrahieren konnte, nun musste ich mich einerseits erst mal registrieren für die kostenfreien '10 Minuten', dann aber werden mir jetzt nur noch Acapella und/oder Instrumental als je eine einzige Spur angeboten.
Grübel.... mache ich was falsch?
